"With the fall television season officially under way, chances are your DVR is already overbooked. Still, we urge you to find room for Party Down. The Starz series—the terrific first season will be re-airing starting Monday, Sept. 28 —comes from executive producers Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) and actor Paul Rudd, and totally justifies spending extra on your cable.

Following the lives of has-been and never-were Hollywood types making ends meet on the event-catering circuit (think lavish sweet 16 and La-La Land parties), Party Down is blessed with a melancholy sense of humor reminiscent of the original British The Office—except thankfully without the now stale faux-documentary conceit. And unlike certain TV shows set in Los Angeles (cough, Entourage), the series paints the entertainment industry as one where people have to actually work for a living. Poor Turtle wouldn’t know what to do with himself."
